HomeMy WebLinkAboutNotice of Public HearingCITY OF MIAMI NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING The Miami City Commission will hold a Public Hearing on November 9, 2006 to consider the award of a contract, in the amount of $91,460.00, to Arts for Learning/ Miami, Inc., $68,000.00 to Miami Dade Family Learning Partnership, and $99,972.00, to Museum of Science, Inc, Florida not -for -profit corporations, for the 2006-2007 contract period, for the provision of art teacher management, literacy based curriculum, teacher supervision, science related activities, family day field trips and other like activities in conjunction with educational and parks services to be provided at seven of the City's parks, African Square, Curtis, Duarte, Robert King High, Sandra DeLucca Developmental Center, Shenandoah, and Williams Parks in conjunction with a grant from the Children's Trust called the Out -of -School "Heart of Our Parks" grant and to consider the City Manager's recommendation and finding that competitive negotiation methods are not practicable or advantageous regarding these issues. This action is being considered pursuant to Section 18-86 (services related to educational services and activities provided by non-profit organizations within city parks) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended. The recommendation and finding to be considered in this matter are set forth in the proposed resolution and in this Code Section, which are deemed to be incorporated by reference herein and are available as public records from the City of Miami. The Public Hearing will be held in conjunction with the regularly scheduled City Commission meeting of November 9, 2006, commencing at 9 am in the City Commission Chambers located at Miami City Hall, 3500 Pan American Drive, Miami, Florida. All interested individuals are invited to attend this hearing and may comment on the proposed issue. Should any person desire to appeal any decision of the City Commission with respect to any matter considered at this meeting, that person shall ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made including all testimony and evidence upon which any appeal may be based.
