Subject: Resolution Authorizing new Agreement With Foundation of Community Assistance and
Leadership, Inc. for After School Tutoring and Computer Training Services for 2006-2007.
Purpose of Item:
A Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute an agreement with Foundation of Community
Assistance and Leadership, Inc.(FOCAL), in the amount of $115,452 in administrative support, to
continue the after school tutoring, counseling and computer education services at Moore Park for the
2006-2007 contract period beginning October 1,2006. Funding for said purposes will be allocated
from the City's Non-Departamental account No. 001000.921002.6.930 for fiscal year 2006-2007.
Background Information:
i The Department of Parks and Recreation reccomends that the City of Miami execute an agreement
with the Foundation of Community Assistance and Leadership, Inc.(FOCAL), in the amount of
$115,452 to continue funding the after school tutoring , counseling and computer education and
training services for young adults at Moore Park. FOCAL has been operating this program from
Moore Park for at least five years. The period of the agreement is from Octoberl, 2006 to September
30th,2007 and will be funded through the City's Non-Departamental Accounts budget.
