HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hail 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 06-02004 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE PROVISION OF IN -KIND SERVICES FROM THE DEPARTMENTS OF FIRE -RESCUE, SOLID WASTE AND PUBLIC FACILITIES, IN CONNECTION WITH THE VENEZUELAN PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION TO BE HELD DECEMBER 3, 2006, AT THE ORANGE BOWL STADIUM; CONDITIONING SAID AUTHORIZATION UPON THE ORGANIZER: (1) OBTAINING ALL PERMITS REQUIRED BY LAW; (2) PAYING FOR ALL OTHER NECESSARY COSTS WITH SAID EVENT; (3) OBTAINING INSURANCE TO PROTECT THE CITY OF MIAMI IN THE AMOUNT AS PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER; AND (4) COMPLYING WITH ALL CONDITIONS AND LIMITATIONS AS MAY BE PRESCRIBED BY THE CITY MANAGER. WHEREAS, the General Consulate of Venezuela has requested the use of the Orange Bowl Stadium in connection with the Venezuelan Presidential Election to be held December 3, 2006; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 06-0578, adopted October 12, 2006, the City Commission authorized a waiver of the use fee associated with said use of the Orange Bowl Stadium and the provision of police in -kind services; and WHEREAS, the General Consulate of Venezuela is now requesting the provision of in -kind services from the Departments of Fire -Rescue, Solid Waste and Public Facilities; and WHEREAS, the City Commission desires to provide support for said event; NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The provision of in -kind services from the Departments of Fire -Rescue, Solid Waste and Public Facilities in connection with the Venezuelan Presidential Election to be held December 3, 2006, at the Orange Bowl Stadium is authorized, with said authorization conditioned upon the organizer: (1) obtaining all permits required by law; (2) paying for all other necessary costs with said event; (3) obtaining insurance to protect the City in the amount as prescribed by the City Manager; and (4) complying with all conditions and limitations as may be prescribed by the City Manager. Section 3.
