JUSTIFICATION:
The "Do The Right Thing" Program is a program that rewards youth in our community for being
leaders, not using drugs, portraying a positive image and excelling in education. The program
directly impacts approximately 9,000 children annually through its awards program.
HOW IS THIS ITEM GOING TO ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF SERVICE TO THE
CUSTOMER / CITIZENS?
One of the benefits of this program is that it allows children, living in high -crime areas, to
interact with uniformed police officers in non -confrontational settings, thereby establishing
positive associations and enhancing mutual respect.
