NAME MiMo/Biscayne Boulevard Historic District
ADDRESS
The area generally bounded by both sides of Biscayne Boulevard
from NE 50th Street north to NE 77th Street [Commissioner Linda
M. Haskins - District 2]
PROJECT DESCRIPTION Consideration of approval of historic district designation and an
amendment to the Official Historic and Environmental
Preservation Atlas of the City of Miami, Florida, pursuant to
Chapter 23 of the Miami City Code.
ANALYSIS Please see the attached designation report.
RECOMMENDATION The Preservation Officer recommends that the Board adopt the
attached designation report of the MiMo/Biscayne Boulevard
Historic District and approve the historic district designation and
amendment to the Official Historic and Environmental
Preservation Atlas of the City of Miami, Florida, pursuant to
Chapter 23 of the Miami City Code. The district is eligible for
designation under the following criteria:
3. Exemplifies the historical, cultural, political, economical, or
social trends of the community.
4. Portrays the environment in an era of history characterized
by one or more distinctive architectural styles, or period, or
method of construction.
5. Embodies those distinguishing characteristics of an
architectural style, or period, or method of construction.

PRESERVATION BOARD Approved the designation on June 6, 2006 by a vote of 7-0.
