HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 06-01488 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES CONTRACT FOR MISCELLANEOUS STORM WATER SEWER/ROAD IMPROVEMENT/DREDGING SERVICES, DATED OCTOBER 26, 2004 WITH CAMP DRESSER & MCKEE, INC., AUTHORIZING A CONTINUATION OF WORK AND THE RELATED INCREASE IN FEES, INCREASING THE CONTRACT BY AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $100,000 FROM $500,000 TO $600,000; ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR SAID INCREASE FROM PROJECT B-50705, CONSISTING OF VARIOUS FUNDING SOURCES INCLUDING CAPITAL FUNDS AND OTHER SOURCES AS MAY BECOME AVAILABLE . WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") and Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc. entered into a Professional Services Agreement on October 26, 2004, for the provision of Miscellaneous Storm Water Sewer/Road Improvement/Dredging Services for miscellaneous projects pursuant to RFQ. No. 02-03-163 conducted in compliance with City Code; and WHEREAS, the Department has issued two work order authorizations to Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc. totaling $309,996 for Kinloch Storm Sewer Improvements Project B-50705 ("Project") leaving a contract balance of $190,004; and WHEREAS, the anticipated cost of several ongoing tasks, including bidding, permitting and construction management are required to complete this Project; and WHEREAS, in order to provide a continuation of work for this Project, a contract increase in an amount not to exceed $100,000 is required, which will increase the total contract amount from $500,000 to $600,000; and WHEREAS, funds for the stated purpose are available from Project B-50705, consisting of various funding sources including capital funds and other sources as may become available, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORI DA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Amendment No. 1 to the professional services contract dated October 26, 2004 with Camp Dresser & McKee, Inc., for the provision of Miscellaneous Storm Water, Sewer/Road Improvement/Dredging Services for miscellaneous projects ("Services") on a continuing basis by $100,000, increasing the total contract amount from $500,000 to $600,000, is authorized, allocating funds for said increase from Project B-50705 consisting of various funding sources including capital City of Miami Page 1 of 2 Printed On: 8/31/2006 File Number: 06-01488 funds and other sources as may become available. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {2} to execute an amendment to the contract, in substantially the attached form. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{3} PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS day of , 2006. APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: JORGE L. Asterisks indicate omitted and unchanged material. {2} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {3} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
