HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 06-01686 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY BUILDING BETTER COMMUNITIES GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $550,000, FOR THE OLD MIAMI HIGH A/K/A FIRST MIAMI HIGH AND DORSEY MEMORIAL LIBRARY CAPITAL PROJECTS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE RESPECTIVE PROJECT AGREEMENTS, IN SUBSTANTIALLY ATTACHED FORMS, FOR SAID PURPOSES; AND AMENDING THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS APPROPRIATIONS RESOLUTION NO. 05-0689, ADOPTED NOVEMBER 17, 2005 AS AMENDED, TO REFLECT THE ADDITION OF SAID FUNDS. WHEREAS, the Department of Capital Improvements and Transportation ("Department") received a commitment of funds from the Miami -Dade County Building Better Communities General Obligation Bond ("GOB") for the following capital projects in the following amounts: Old Miami High a/k/a First Miami High ($300,000), also known as Miami -Dade County GOB Project No. 264-70542 and Dorsey Memorial Library ($250,000), also known as Miami -Dade County GOB Project No. 256-70545; and WHEREAS, Resolution No. 06-0321, adopted May 25, 2006, authorized the City Manager to execute Agreements with Miami -Dade County to receive funds on a reimbursement basis, in various amounts, for capital improvement projects funded by GOB; and WHEREAS, this Resolution authorizes the City Manager to appropriate the GOB funds in the total amount of $ 550,000 and authorizes the City Manager to execute any required documentation related to the receipt and administration of said funds; and WHEREAS, this item amends the capital improvement projects appropriations Resolution No 05- 0689, adopted November 17, 2005, as amended, to reflect the funds indicated above; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. Resolution No. 05-0689, the Capital Project Appropriations, adopted November 17, 2005, is amended in the following particulars: {1} "Resolution No. 05-0689 City of Miami Page 1 of 3 Printed On: 9/20/2006 File Number: 06-01686 Section 1. The herein appropriations are hereby made for implementation of all municipal capital improvements of the City of Miami, including new capital improvement projects scheduled to begin during Fiscal Year 2006. The herein appropriations which are hereby designated by reference to descriptive project title and number also include appropriations for previously approved scheduled projects as well as reappropriations for prior funds. The sources of revenues to support the herein appropriations are hereby identified by fund and project in ten Capital Funds, as follows: Appropriations * V. Fund 325 Public Facilities * * * Sub -fund Historic Preservation Initiatives * * * 1. 327001 Historic Preservation Initiatives Funding Sources: a. Homeland Defense/Neighborhood Improvement Bonds $ 1,795,288 b. Donation from Dade Heritage Trust 76,351 c. Capital Projects Revolving Account 100,000 d. Florida Bureau of Historic Preservation 300,000 e. Miami -Dade County Building Better Communities - General Obligation Bonds 550.000 Total $ 2,271,639 $ 2,821,639 * Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{2} to execute the respective project agreements, in substantially attached forms, for said purposes. Section 4. Asterisks indicate omitted and unchanged material. {2} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {3} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
