A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENTS),
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A USE AGREEMENT, IN
SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, WITH MIAMI SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL,
FOR THE USE OF THE ORANGE BOWL STADIUM, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
HOSTING TWO HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL GAMES ON OCTOBER 19 AND 26,
2006; PROVIDING FOR A WAIVER OF THE BASIC USE FEE AND TICKET
SURCHARGE ASSOCIATED WITH SUCH USE, AND UTILIZING THE
CUSTOMARY $850, CHARGED PER GAME, AT CURTIS PARK, AS THE FLAT
FEE TO COVER CITY OF MIAMI EVENT STAFF COSTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE
USE OF THE ORANGE BOWL.
WHEREAS, the National Football League has partnered with the City of Miami ("City") in
refurbishing the playing field at Curtis Park in October, displacing the high school teams that would
normally play games at the Orange Bowl Stadium; and
WHEREAS, the City's Department of Parks and Recreatiorreceives an all inclusive amount of
$850 for each use of Curtis Park for high school football games and has contacted the Department of
Public Facilities to seek assistance in utilizing the Orange Bowl Stadium for the games; and
WHEREAS, the Orange Bowl Stadium is available on both days to host the football matches;
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1) to execute a Use Agreement, in substantially the
attached form, with Miami Senior High School, for the use of the Orange Bowl Stadium, on October 19
and 26, 2006, providing for a waiver of the basic use fee and ticket surcharge associated with such
use and utilizing the customary $850, charged per game, for use. of Curtis Park, as the flat fee to cover
City event staff costs associated with the use of the Orange Bowl.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature by
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes,:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be
imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter
and Code provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
