HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 06-01704 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ("DEP") AGREEMENT NUMBER CZ613, WHICH AGREEMENT PROVIDED THE CITY OF MIAMI $50,000, IN GRANT FUNDS, FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE BAYWALK OF THE PUBLIC BOAT RAMP LOCATED ON WATSON ISLAND ("PROJECT"), TO PROVIDE FOR A CHANGE IN THE SCOPE OF WORK AND EXTEND THE COMPLETION DATE OF SAID PROJECT. WHEREAS, on October 2004, the City of Miami ("City") submitted a proposal to Department of Environmental Protection ("DEP") under the Coastal Zone Management Program Grant Program requesting $50,000 to aid in funding the construction of the public boat ramp Baywalk on Watson Island ("Project"); and WHEREAS, the City was awarded the grant in April, 2005, in the amount of $50,000 with a cash match in the amount of $50,000 to be provided by the Miami Parking Authority; and WHEREAS, due to plan modifications imposed by the Department of Environmental Resource Management, construction cannot be completed by September 30, 2006; and WHEREAS, due to such setback DEP has agreed to extend the expiration of the grant to March 31, 2007, and to change the scope of work to fund the Project design and regulatory consultation for the baywalk; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1 } to execute Amendment No. 1 to the DEP Agreement No. CZ613, which agreement provided the City $50,000, in grant funds, for the construction of the Project, to provide for a change in the scope of work and extend the completion date of said Project. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} APPROVED,,,AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: ORG L.
