HomeMy WebLinkAboutExhibit 4EXHIBIT `B' City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-05-0554 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.mianiigov.com Fife Number: 05-00979 Final Action Date: 9/22/2005 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT A GRANT AWARD FROM THE STATE OF FLORIDA, DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION ("DEP"), FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE BAYWALK AT THE PUBLIC BOAT RAMP LOCATED ON WATSON ISLAND, IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000, WITH A LOCAL MATCH PROVIDED BY THE MIAMI PARKING AUTHORITY, IN THE AMOUNT OF $50,000; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE A DEP AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT. WHEREAS, in October, 2004, the City of Miami ("City") submitted a proposal to the State of Florida, Department of Environmental Protection ("DEP"), under the Coastal Zone Management Program Grant Program requesting $50,000 to aid in funding the construction of the public boat ramp baywalk on Watson Island; and WHEREAS, in April, 2005, the City was nominated by the DEP for funding awards pending approval from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration ("NOAA"); and WHEREAS, the City was awarded the grant by NOAA in July, 2005, in the amount of $50,000 with a cash match in the amount of $50,000 to.be provided by the Miami Parking Authority; and WHEREAS, it was determined that the most efficient use of this, grant award was for the construction of the retaining wall/seating for the baywalk; NOW, THEREFORE, BE 1T RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings found in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized(1) to accept a grant award from the DEP, for the construction of the baywalk at the public boat ramp located on Watson Island, in the amount of $50,000, with a local match provided by the Miami Parking Authority, in the amount of $50,000. Section 3. The City Manager is further authorized(1) to execute a DEP Agreement, in substantially the attached form, in order to implement acceptance of said grant. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.(2) City of Miami Page 1 of 2 Printed On: 8/22/2006 File Number- 05-00979 Enactment Nwnber• R-05.0554 Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, i1 shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days frorn the date it was passed and adopted.
