HomeMy WebLinkAboutSummary FormDate: 11/1/2006 AGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM FILE ID: 0 �� a I I - l Requesting Department: Public Works Commission Meeting Date: ,10/12/2006 District Impacted: All Type: ® Resolution ❑ Ordinance ❑ Emergency Ordinance ❑ Discussion Item El Other Subject: Resolution authorizing the procurement of two vacuum trucks with options, two skid steer loaders with options, and two mini -vacuum trucks Purpose of Item: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution authorizing the procurement of two vacuum trucks with options, Model Vactor 2115 from Environmental Products of Florida Corp., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, two skid steer loaders with options, Model Bobcat S-185 from Bobcat of Metrodade Inc., the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, and two mini -vacuum trucks, Model Vactron from Southern Sewer Equipment Sales, , the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. These equipments will be acquired for the Department of Public Works, Operations Division, in an amount not to exceed $780,448,61, is authorized, with funds allocated from Capital Improvements Project Account No. 352216.319201.6.840, B-30156 Background Information: The new Vactor trucks will supplement our storm sewer cleaning equipments by allowing us to increase our flood protection level, and provide a better service to the residents. The skid steer loaders is critical to our day to day operations, and will be used to help in the repairs of sidewalks, loading and unloading of materials, and debris clearing during period of emergencies.On March 21, 2006, the city sent out bids to 47 vendors. On Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at the bid opening, five (5) bidders had submitted their bid responses and their results are shown in the enclosed bid tabulations (see attached). The Department of Public Works is recommending the awards to Environmental Product of Florida located at 1158 Elboc Way Winter Haven FL 34787, Bobcat of Metrodade Inc. located at 11913 NW 99 Ave Hialeah Gardens FL 33018, and Southern Sewer Equipment Sales located at 3409 Industrial 27th St Ft.
