Due to the issue of the Sterling Truck, Model LT 7501, raving the ability to carry the Cummins 350 Diesel
Engine, it has been determined that this format is only available in manual transmission. Therefore, the City has
revised the Specification to accept the Cummins 315 Diesel Engine with the automatic transmission for the
Vacuum Trucks.
Please replace pages 24 and 30 with the enclosed pages.
ALL OTHER TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS IFB REMAIN THE SAME.

3.1.15 MOUNTING AND DELIVERY
3.1.15.1 The unit will be painted White and mounted on the chassis at the factory of the body
manufacturer.

3.1.17 OPTIONS
3.1.17.1 Lateral Cleaning Kit with 150' 112 diameter hose with nozzle. Reel and valve should be located
on front bumper street side.
3.1.17.2 Whelan DOTS six (6) strobe head assembly (led lights), with dash mounted controls light
system, to be mounted on each mirror, two mid -vehicle, and two front fender mounted.

Easy access for cleaning and inspection of the auger shall be made possible by a hinged lid on the
auger and a hinged door above swing ring.
The hydraulic control valve for the mix auger shall provide forward (mix) and reverse. (clean up/jam)
capability for the auger fighting.
An air powered cylinder is used on the auger latch to lock the auger in place during transport: Auger lift
and lower is to be accomplished via a hydraulic cylinder. The cylinder must be able to hold in any
position via a load hold valve.
Auger swing left and right is to be accomplished via a hydraulic cylinder. The swing shall hold the load
in any position without drift due to the vehicle being on an uneven plane. The swing shall be
approximately 160 degrees. The transition above the swing shall be made of stainless steel.
Hydraulic power telescopic chutes shall be provided. The chutes and auger combined shall have a
minimum delivery reach of seventeen (17) feet.
3.3.1.14 Control Station - All mix functions shall be initiated at control station, located on the left rear of the
mixer, including the start and stop of water, the auger, and the conveyor, simultaneously or
independently of each other. It will also include a preset governor controlled engine speed switch to
permit the unit to maintain constant mixing speeds under all load conditions.
Unit shall be equipped with a counter register to be positioned where it is clearly visible at the operator's
stations for calibration, or so that the amount of concrete produced can be calculated. It shall be
capable of printing a ticket to show the amount of concrete produced.
3.3.1.15 SafetyGuards shall be provided on all hazardous moving parts. Platform, steps and rails shall be
provided. Anti-skid surfaces shall be provided on all platforms, foot walks and steps. The mobile
concrete mixing plant shall meet all motor vehicle safety standards required by the Federal Highway
Administration. OSHA, and D.O.T. certification.
The unit shall be fitted with an electric recoil tarp over the aggregate bins. The tarp control switch shall
be mounted inside the cab for operator convenience.
3.3.1.16 Warranty - To include Manufacturer's standard warranty, twelve (12) months parts and labor, with
exception that during the first year (12 months) of the warranty period, beginning when the unit is
accepted by the Department, any necessary repairs (parts, labor, and travel), will be made at locations
other than dealer facilities at no expense to the Department.
