HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 06-01673 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "CITY OF MIAMI PROGRAMS FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES AFTERSCHOOL PROGRAM" AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $53,934.46, CONSISTING OF A GRANT AWARD RECEIVED FROM THE MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, OFFICE OF AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT COORDINATION 2005-2006 GRANT FUND; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT SAID GRANT AWARD AND TO EXECUTE THE NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID GRANT AWARD; ALLOCATING THE CITY OF MIAMI'S REQUIRED MATCHING FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $53,934.46, FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF PARKS GENERAL FUND. WHEREAS, Section 316.1967 of the Florida Statutes and Section 30-447 of the Code of MiarDade County ("County"), Florida, authorizes fines to be charged for the misuse of specially marked parking spaces for people with disabilities; and - �a WHEREAS, revenues from said fines shall be distributed by the County in accordance with the provisions of Section 30-447 of the County Code; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the fine revenue distribution pattern, the County awarded the City of Miami ("City"), Department of Parks and Recreation, Program for Persons with Disabilities, a grant in an amount not to exceed $53,934.46, from 2005-20.06 program funds, to assist in funding a new daily after -school programs for children with disabilities at the Sandra DeLucca Developmental Center at Kinloch Park; and WHEREAS, the County's Americans with Disabilities Act ("A.D.A.") grant, in an amount not to exceed $53,934.46, requires the provision of a dollar for dollar cash match available from the City Department of Parks general funds; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to accept said grant award and to execute the necessary documents, to implement acceptance of said grant award. Section 4. The City's required matching funds, in the amount not to exceed $53,934.46, are allocated from the Department of Parks General Fund. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND COR CTNESS: JOR ERNANDEZ k 2iA CITY : •RNEY Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
