HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Leg is!atm ReSotut+on City Hail 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miarnigov.com file Number: 06- 1434 final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT('S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AMENDMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY T•HE ATTACHED FORM, TO THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY Of MIAMI AND ENVIROWASTE SERVICES GROUP, INC., PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. 05-0145, ADOPTED JULY 26, 2005, FURTHER AMENDED 8Y RESOLUTION NO. 06-0207, ADOPTED APRIL 6, 2006, FOR ADDITIONAL WORK REQUIRED FOR THE PROJECT ENTITLED "CITYWIDE STORM SEWER INLET CLEANING PRO$ECT-NORTH ZONE, B-50711," 1N AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $694,600.92, INCREASING THE SECOND YEAR CONTRACT AMOUNT FROM $333,614.37 TO $1,026,215.29; ALLOCATING -FUNDS FROM FEMA ACCOUNT NO.600007.311548:6.340 FOR HURRICANE WILMA, FOR SAID INCREASE; AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 060-207, TO REFLECT SAID INCREASE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") and Envirowaste Services Group, Inc., entered into a contract for the cleaning of the storm sewers at locations within the City, ,for the project.entitled "Citywide Storm Sewer Inlet Cleaning Project -North Zone, 8-50711," pursuant to Resolution No. 05- 0445, adopted July 28, 2005 ("Contract"); and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 06-0207, adopted April 6, 2006, the City Commission authorized an amendment to the Contract for additional work required to -complete said project; and WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the City to increase the current Contract with "Envirowaste Services Group, Inc., for an additional 200 days to address maintenance needs' for those locations Citywide that were impacted by damage from Hurricane Wilma; and WHEREAS, Envirowaste ServicesGroup, Inc., is willing to perform the additional -services 'for the additional sum of $694,600.92, which is .acceptable ,to the City; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAAvIII, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble ,to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized ( 1) to execute an Amendment in substantially the attached form, to the Contract, pursuant to Resolution No. 05-0145, ado.pted July 28, 2005, further amended by Resolution No. 06-0207, adopted April 6, 2006, for additional work required for the project entitled "Citywide Storm Sewer Inlet Cleaning Project -North Zone, 8-50711," in an amount not to exceed $694,600.92, increasing the second year contract amount from $333,614.37 to'$1,026,215.29. Resolution No. 06-0207, adopted April 6, 2006, is further amended in the following particulars: (2) "Resolution No. 06-0207 'Section 1. The bid of Envirowaste Services Group, Inc., for the project entitled "Citywide Storm Sewer Inlet Cleaning Project -North Zone, 8-50711," for a two-year period, in the first year annual amount not to exceed S239,635, and the second year amount not to exceed $333,61,1.37 $1.028.215.29, for a dotal contract amount notio exceed 54 '$1,267,850.29, with the option to renew for two {2) additional one-year periods, is accepted, with funds allocated in the amount not to exceed $5-7444447 $1.267.850.29, from Public Works General Account No. 001000.311003.6.340. Section A. 'Funds, in an amount not to exceed $694,600.92, ate allocated from FEMA AcoourntiNo. 800007.311508.6.340 for Hurricane Wilma, for said increase. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.
