HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-06-0532City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-06-0532 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 06-01557 Final Action Date: 9/12/2006 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S) AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 2, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, WITH GANNETT FLEMING INC., FOR TRANSPORTATION AND TRANSIT PROFESSIONAL SERVICES ON A CONTINUING BASIS, FOR MISCELLANEOUS PROJECTS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $200,000, INCREASING THE CONTRACT FROM $2,300,000 TO $2,500,000; ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR SAID INCREASE, FROM VARIOUS FUNDING SOURCES, INCLUDING THE APPROPRIATE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM PROJECTS AND OTHER FUNDING SOURCES AS MAY BECOME AVAILABLE. WHEREAS, on October 20, 2004, the City of Miami ("City") and Gannett Fleming Inc. ("Gannett"), entered into a Professional Services Agreement for the provision of transportation and transit professional services on a continuing basis for miscellaneous projects ("Agreement"), pursuant to Request for Qualifications No. 03-04-087 conducted in compliance with the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended; and WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 06-0286, adopted May 11, 2006, the City authorized an Amendment No. 1 which increased the Agreement value by $300,000 from $2,000,000 to an amount not to exceed $2,300,000; and WHEREAS, the Department of Capital Improvements and Transportation has issued five work order authorizations to Gannett totaling $2,164,418, for miscellaneous projects including the Civic Center Implementation Plan, Grand Ave Extension Improvements, the Environmental Assessment for the Overtown Station Redevelopment Project and the Streetcar Alternative Analysis; and WHEREAS, Gannett is currently working on the Basis of Design Report for the Civic Center Implementation Plan and the Transportation Element of the Miami 21 Project; and WHEREAS, the current remaining contract balance of $135,582, is not sufficient to cover the costs of continuing services for the known assignments or to provide the flexibility to assign new work as needed; and WHEREAS, a contract increase in an amount not to exceed $200,000, will increase the contract from $2,300,000 to $2,500,000; and WHEREAS, funds for the additional professional services will be allocated from various sources, including capital funds and other funding sources as may become available, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 06-01557 (Version: 1) Printed On: 2/15/2017 File Number: 06-01557 Enactment Number: R-06-0532 Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section; Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute Amendment No. 2, in substantially the attached form, with Gannett, for transportation and transit professional services on a continuing basis, for miscellaneous projects, in an amount not to exceed $200,000, increasing the contract from $2,300,000 to $2,500,000, with funds allocated from various funding sources, including the appropriate capital improvements program projects and other funding sources as may become available. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
