Director Chief City Manage If using or receiving capital funds Grants Page 1 of 1 AMENDING RESOLUTION NUMBER 05-0700 (MIAMI RECOVERS) AGENDA SUMMARY ATTACHMENT BACKGROUND INFORMATION: • Pursuant to Resolution No. 05-0700, adopted November 17, 2005, the City Commission authorized the transfer of funds, in the amount of $2,000,000 from the Affordable Housing Trust Fund to the City of Miami Department of Community Development to provide relocation and/or housing repair assistance for City of Miami residents whose housing was impacted by the Hurricanes • In said resolution, the program guidelines followed the same terms as that of the Emergency Repair program which limited the maximum amount of assistance and the type of assistance allowable under the program • Based on the limited number of initial applicants, the Administration is recommending amending the resolution by substituting the attachment of said resolution with the Miami Recovers program guidelines, as described in Exhibit "A". attached and incorporated • The resolution will be amended as follows: ➢ The maximum amount of assistance for homeowners will be $35,000 per unit ➢ Scope of work for homeowner assistance will include damages to their homes (roof, windows, drywall, etc.) ➢ Assessed value of the unit/ property will not exceed $300,000 per unit ➢ Assistance will also be provided to multi -family buildings/duplex's that rent low to moderate income tenants ➢ Homeowners that receive insurance payment or FEMA reimbursement for items covered under Miami Recovers Program will be required to repay the City of Miami the portion of the payment that pertains to those items. ➢ Amendments will be retroactive to 11/17/05 ➢ Income must not exceed 150% of median income
