A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AMENDING RESOLUTION NUMBER 05-0700, ADOPTED NOVEMBER 17, 2005,
BY SUBSTITUTING THE ATTACHMENT OF SAID RESOLUTION WITH THE
MIAMI RECOVERS PROGRAM GUIDELINES, AS DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A",
ATTACHED AN INCORPORATED; AUTHORIZING THE ACCEPTANCE OF SAID
GUIDELINES TO BE IN EFFECT, RETROACTIVE TO NOVEMBER 17, 2005.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 05-0700, adopted November 17, 2005, the City
Commission authorized the transfer of funds, in the amount of $2,000,000 from the Affordable
Housing Trust Fund to the City of Miami Department of Community Development to provide relocation
and/or housing repair assistance for City of Miami residents whose housing was impacted by the
Hurricanes; and
WHEREAS, in said resolution, the program guidelines followed the same terms as that of the
Emergency Repair program which limited the maximum amount of assistance and the type of
assistance allowable under the program; and
WHEREAS, based on the limited number of initial applicants, the Administration is recommending
amending the resolution by substituting the attachment of said resolution with the Miami Recovers
program guidelines, as described in Exhibit "A". attached and incorporated; and
WHEREAS, the resolution will be amended as follows:
The maximum amount of assistance for homeowners will be $35,000 per unit
Scope of work for homeowner assistance will include damages to their homes (roof, windows, drywall,
etc.)
Assessed value of the unit/ property will not exceed $300,000 per unit
Assistance will also be provided to multi -family buildings/duplex's that rent low to moderate income
tenants
Homeowners that receive insurance payment or FEMA reimbursement for items covered under Miami
Recovers Program will be required to repay the City of Miami the portion of the payment that pertains
to those items.
Amendments will be retroactive to 11/17/05 -
Income must not exceed 150% of median income
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. Amending Resolution Number 05-0700, adopted November 17, 2005, by substituting the
attachment of said resolution with the Miami Recovers Program Guidelines, as described in Exhibit

"A", attached and incorporated, and the acceptance of said guidelines to be in effect, retroactive to
November 17, 2005, is authorized.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the
Mayor. {1}

{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
