HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov:com File Number: 06-01445 final Action Onto: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OFFUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF'$1€5,z000, FROM THE CITY OF IVIIAMI REVOLVING LOAN ACCOUNT; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS, TO THE ALTERNATIVE PROGRAMS, INC., FOR PUBLIC FACT .IT4ES AND IMPROVEMENT ACTIVITIES, AS SPECIFIED IN "ATTACHMENT A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO. EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED'FORM, WITH SAID AGENCY FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, The Alternative Program, Inc, (."Alternative") provides Ieggal service assistance and programs as an alternative to incarceration to low tomoderate income youth in the City of Miami ("City") area; and WHEREAS, due to the 2005 Hurricane season, the Alternative facility located at 151 Northwest 60 Street, Miami, Florida, sustained heavy damages to the roof and windows; and WHEREAS, said agency has requested assistance from the City to rehabilitate the building; and WHEREAS, payments will be made directly to the contractor; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE .CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The transfer of funds, in the amount of $185,000, from the City's Revolving Loan Account and the allocation of said funds, to the Alternative, for public facilities and improvement activities, as specified in "Attachment A," attached and incorporated, is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1 } to execute an Agreement, in substantially the attached form, with said agency for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor. {2} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS City of Mfamr Page 1 of 2 Printed On: V/31/2006 File Number: 06-01445 Footnotes : {1) The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements That may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
