VERA & ASSOCIATES,INC., THE TOP -RANKED FIRM, PURSUANT TO REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS NO. 05-06-038, TO PROVIDE SURVEY/MAPPING SERVICES FOR THE CITY OF MIAMI STREETCAR PROJECT, B-71215G, IN THE AMOUNT OF $720,332 PLUS AN ADDITIONAL $79,668 OWNER CONTINGENCY FOR A TOTAL NOT TO EXCEED AMOUNT OF $800,000; ALLOCATING FUNDS FROM CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NO. B-71215G, CONSISTING OF CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT FUNDS AND VARIOUS OTHER FUNDS AS MAY BECOME AVAILABLE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 06-0309, adopted May 25, 2006, the City Commission accepted the recommendation of the City Manager approving the finding of the Evaluation Committee pursuant to the Request For Qualifications ("RFQ") No. 05-06-038, that the firms most qualified to provide survey/mapping services, for the City of Miami Streetcar Project, B-71215G are, in rank order: (1) Manuel G. Vera & Associates, (2) Marling Engineering, Inc., (3) Craig A. Smith & Associates, and (4) Consultech, Surveying & Mapping, Inc.; and WHEREAS, said Resolution authorized the City Manager to negotiate a Professional Services Agreement ("Agreement") and present such Agreement to the City Commission for consideration; and WHEREAS, the Department of Capital Improvements and Transportation has negotiated an Agreement, in substantially the attached form, with Manuel G. Vera & Associates, Inc., the top -ranked firm, in the amount of $720,332 plus an additional $79,668 owner contingency for a total not to exceed amount of $800,000, with funds allocated from Project No. B-71215G, consisting of Capital Improvement funds and various other funds as may become available. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this section. Section 2. the City Manager is authorized(1) to execute a negotiated Agreement, in substantially the attached form, with Manuel G. Vera & Associates, Inc., the top -ranked firm, pursuant to RFQ No. 05-06-038, to provide survey/mapping services, in an amount not to exceed $ 800,000 with funds allocated from Capital Improvement Project No. B-71215G, consisting of Capital Improvement funds and various other funds as may become available. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.(2) City of Miami Page 1 of 2 Printed On: 8/31/2006 File Number: 06-01477 Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} This Resolution shall become effective as specified herein unless vetoed by the Mayor within ten days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission or upon the effective date stated herein, whichever is later.
