Trust Commission Meeting Date: 9/14/2006 District Impacted: Type: Z Resolution ❑ Ordinance ❑ Emergency Ordinance n Discussion Item ❑ Other Subject: Playground equipment at Bayfront Park Purpose of Item: The Bayfront Park Management Trust intends to utilize Miami -Dade County Contract No. 4907-1/06 for the purchase and installation of playground equipment from American Park & Play, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $206,323.10. Background Information: The Bayfront Park Management Trust in an effort to ensure maximum community utilization and enjoyment, at its May 22, 2006, decided to purchase and install equipment for a children's play area, The Trust met with City approved vendors, pusuant to City of Miami/Miami-Dade contract 4907- 1/06, on June 1 and 2, 2006, & solicited proposals for the playground. At its June 26, 2006, board meeting, the Trust reviewed the two proposals received & selected American Park & Play as the most responsve proposer & directed the executive director to negotiate a final proposal. The Trust at its July 24, 2006, board meeting, approved the proposal & a total playground project expense not to exceed $260,000.
