A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE
ALLOCATION OF FUNDS TO THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING TRUST FUND,
IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $75,000; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS, FROM
THE LAW ENFORCEMENT TRUST FUND, PROJECT NOS./ACCOUNT CODES
690001.290204.6.996, 690002.291201.6.996 AND 690003.291202.6.996, WITH
SUCH EXPENDITURES HAVING BEEN APPROVED BY THE CHIEF OF POLICE
AS COMPLYING WITH THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENTS OF JUSTICE AND
TREASURY'S, "GUIDE TO EQUITABLE SHARING," AND FLORIDA STATUTES,
SECTION 932.7055, AS AMENDED.
WHEREAS, the United States ("U.S.") Departments of Justice and Treasury and Section
932.7055, Florida Statutes, as amended, authorize the expenditures of forfeited cash or proceeds for
certain law enforcement purposes; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") Department of Police will be training its personnel in any
area that is necessary to perform or support official law enforcement duties, and to further
professional law enforcement career development; and
WHEREAS, it is in the best interest of the community and the City to continue to fund these
expenditures through monies generated as a result of seizures authorized under the U.S.
Departments of Justice and Treasury's "Guide to Equitable Sharing" and the Florida Contraband
Forfeiture Act; and
WHEREAS, funds to cover said expenditure are available from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund,
Project Nos. 690001, 690002 and 690003, with such expenditure having been certified by the Chief
of Police as complying with the U.S. Departments of Justice and Treasury's "Guide to Equitable
Sharing" and with Section 932.7055, Florida Statutes, as amended;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The allocation of funds to the Law Enforcement Training Trust Fund, in an amount not
to exceed $75,000, is authorized with funds allocated from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund, Project
Nos./Account Codes 690001.290204.6.996, 690002.291201.6.996 and 690003.291202.6.996, with
such expenditures having been approved by the Chief of Police as complying with the U.S.
Departments of Justice and Treasury's "Guide to Equitable Sharing" and with Section 932.7055,
Florida Statutes, as amended.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of

the Mayor.{1}
Footnotes:
{1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar
days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become
effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
