Commission Meeting Date: September 12, 206 District tntpacted: Type: '®'Resolution 1[ Ordinance 0 Emergency Ordinance ❑ Discussion tern Other Subject: Purpose ahem: A Resolution of 'the Miami City Commission, with attachrnent(s), accepting from the State of Florida„ Department of Transportation ("FDOT") the following three parcels of land: Parcel ] containing approximately? 2,862 square feet, as more particularly described in Exhibit "A", attached hereto and incorporated herewith;, Parcel 2 containing approximately 992 square feet, as more particularly described in Exhibit "B", attached, hereto and incorporated herewith; and Parcel 3 •containing approximately 259 square feet, -as more particularly: described in Exhibit "C", attached hereto and incorporated herewith, of FDOT property 'located in the area ol€i S.W. 5th Street and 3rd Avenue, Miami, Florida .(collectively the "Properties") by Quitclaim Deed, with aN public purpose reverter provision, in substantially the attached form, to be used in connection with the, development of Jose Marti Park; further authorizing the 'City Manager to execute all documents which are necessary to effectuate said acquisition. Background information: The City requested that State of Florida Department of Transportation ("FDOT") convey 3 parcels that are' located in the area of S.W. 5th Street and 3r° Avenue, Miami, Florida adjacent to Jose Marti Park. The! Properties are no longer required for state highway purposes by FDOT. FDOT is willing to convey then Properties to the City at no charge, but will require a public purpose reverter provision in the Deed of* conveyance. It is necessary that said Properties be accepted by the City in order to enable the construction off4, 4 the improvements for Jose Marti Park which will serve -the best interest of the general welfare of the City of.
