HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 06-01440 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "INTERLOCAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE DEPARTMENT OF OFF-STREET PARKING(" DOSP")AND THE MIAMI HOMELESS ASSISTANCE PROGRAM("MHAP") APPROPRIATING FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $25,000, CONSISTING OF AN AGREEMENT FOR FUNDING TWO COMMUNITY OUTREACH SPECIALIST("COS") POSITIONS FOR THE PROVISION OF SIX MONTHS OF SERVICES TO THE HOMELESS IN THE CITY OF MIAMI PARKING SYSTEM, AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID FUNDS. WHEREAS, the City of Miami Homeless Assistance Program ("MHAP") provides outreach assessment, information and referral services to the homeless citizens of the City of Miami ("City"); and WHEREAS, the City wishes to enhance and expand 24 hours services to the homeless in the Downtown Miami and City of Miami Parking System ("Project"); and WHEREAS, The Department of Off -Street Parking has awarded funds in the amount of $25,000.00 to the Program to fund the positions of two Community Outreach Specialist; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The following new Special Revenue Fund is established and resources are appropriated as described herein: FUND TITLE: Interlocal Agreement between DOSP and MHAP 2006 RESOURCES: Department of Off -Street Parking $ 25,000 APPROPRIATION: Funding the position of two Community Outreach Specialists $25,000 for six months commencing on the effective date. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute an Agreement, in substantially the attached form, to implement acceptance of said contract. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of City of Miami Page 1 of 2 Printed On: 8/31/2006 File Number: 06-01440 the Mayor. {2} Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} if the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
