Subject: Resolution awarding a two year contract to Thomas Maintenance Services, Inc. in the amount
of $384.26720 for the project entitled "City Lots and Rights of Way Landscaping Contract. B-30393".
Purpose of Item:
Award a contract to Thomas Maintenance Services, Inc., a company located at 11770 SW 214 Street,
Miami, Florida 33170, whose principal is Mr. Melvin C. Thomas, President, for the project entitled
"City Lots and Rights of Way Landscaping Contract, B-30393", in the proposed amount of
$384,267.20 Total Bid for a two year period with option to renew for three additional one year period
pending of availability of annual funding and contractor's performance.
Background Information:
On June 27, 2006, the City of Miami Public Works Department received formal bids to perform
landscaping maintaince to the city lots and rights of way at miscellaneous locations. A total of nine
(9) prospective bidders picked up specifications and five (5) contractors submitted bids. Thomas
Maintenance Services, Inc. submitted the lowest bid in the amount of $384,267.20 Total bi 310
Years). Funds are allocated from Public Works General Account No. 001000.301201.6.340, in an
annual amount of $192,133.60 to cover the contract cost for a two year period with option to renew
for three one year periods pending on availability of funding and contractor's performance.
