HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 06-01415 Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S) ESTABLISHING A NEW SPECIAL REVENUE FUND ENTITLED: "FEMA/USAR GRANT AWARD FISCAL YEAR 2006 CDFA #97.025, EMW-2006-CA-0218" AND APPROPRIATING FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $697,915, CONSISTING OF A REIMBURSEMENT GRANT (CDFA 97.025, EMW-2006-CA-0218) FROM THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY, TO BE USED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF FIRE -RESCUE, FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF THE NATIONAL URBAN SEARCH AND RESCUE RESPONSE SYSTEM RESOURCES; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ACCEPT SAID GRANT AWARD AND TO EXECUTE THE GRANT COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT (AS ATTACHED) AND RELATED NECESSARY DOCUMENTS, TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF AND COMPLIANCE WITH SAID GRANT AWARD. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has been awarded a reimbursement grant (CDFA 97.025, EMW-2006-CA-0218), in the amount of $697,915, for the operation of the Federal Emergency Management Agency Program for Fiscal Year 2006, in the amount of $697,915 for the period from April 1, 2006 through July 31,2007; and WHEREAS, pursuant to grant stipulations, said funds will be used by the Department of Fire -Rescue for the development and maintenance of the National Urban Search and Rescue Response System; and WHEREAS, it is appropriate for the City Commission to authorize the City Manager to accept said grant, to execute the necessary documents for implementation and compliance with the grant award, and to establish a special revenue fund for the appropriation of said grant award; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized {1} to execute the Grant Cooperative Agreement (as attached) and related necessary documents, to implement acceptance of and compliance with said grant award. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS O G L. CITY TT RNEY Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
