Dear Ms. Fernandez:
This law firm represents Camillus House, Inc. ("Camillus House"). On behalf of Camillus
House, this is the required Letter of Intent for three (3) Special Exceptions: (i) Rescue Mission; (ii)
Community Based Residential Facility; and (iii) Kennel. We have included site plans and
elevations illustrating the proposed facility, as well as an operational plan. Approval of this
application will allow the relocation of Camillus House and its services to the Property from its
current location. Furthermore, submittal of this Application is consistent with the Development
Agreement regarding the Camillus House relocation, which is pending City Approval.
In addition to the information in the enclosed operational plan, please note the following as to
the Special Exception for a Rescue Mission:
I Beds will be provided for the City of Miami's Homeless Outreach program.
2. Meals will be provided for clients on the south side of the Property.
3. The site plan's configuration provides a courtyard by the dining area to provide a
gathering place for clients, within the Property.

Moreover, the applicant will agree to the conditions the City required of the HAC, as well as
two additional conditions. The eight conditions consist of the following:
l . Camillus House has always and will always enforce a curfew.
2. Camillus House will feed only those individuals who are clients of Camillus House.
3. "No Loitering" signs will be posted on the perimeter of the buildings.
4. As always, Camillus House will prohibit alcohol, drugs, fighting and all threatening
or potentially violent behavior. To that end, Camillus House employs armed security
in the form of off -duty Miami policemen during the busiest parts of the day.
5. Camillus House will maintain an adequate number of trash receptacles on site.
6. Camillus House will give priority for the beds available at the facility to the homeless
of the City of Miami and to homeless persons residing on the streets within a one and
a half mile radius of the facility.
7. Camillus House will maintain the premises in pristine condition, with routine twice
daily policing of all property and adjacent properties to make sure no litter or
unattractive conditions exist.
8. Camillus House will make good faith efforts to have the building constructed and
operational within twenty-four months of approval.
The particulars of this application ensure that all adjoining properties and the neighborhood
will be protected from any potentially adverse effects.
