Subject: Gas Masks and Accessories
Purpose of Item:
The nature of this item is to establish a term contract for the purchase of Gas Masks and Accessories
from Florida Police Products, a Hispanic/Local vendor, located at 701 NW 36 Avenue, Miami,
Florida 33015, for an initial contract period of two (2) years with options to renew for two (2)
additional one-year periods, allocating funds from the various sources of funds of the user department,
subject to the availability of funds and budget approval at time of need.
Background Information:
The Purchasing Department has identified a need to establish a contract for Gas Masks and
Accessories, on an as needed, when needed contract basis. On May 3, 2006, the Purchasing
Department issued Invitation to Bid No.05-06-068 to one hundred and eight (108) potential bidders.
Bids were opened on Monday, May 22, 2006, and three (3) bidders submitted bids. Florida Police
Products submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid and is, therefore, recommended for this
award.
