refuge by giving food and clothes to the homeless.
Community Interests:
I am interested in fostering relationships between various sub -communities and
groups within the City of Miami. We can do this by having community park
days that are sponsored by CRB. I feel that it is always good to establish
relationships prior to a crisis or an emergency. On this day various communities
can come together and dialogue and enjoy the city park. I am also interested in
the plight of the large homeless segment of our community as well as the
affordable housing issues. I volunteer on a regular basis in the distribution of
clothing and food to the homeless.

1. Why would you like to serve on the Community Relations Board?
I am a resident in the City of Miami and have been one all my life I've lived through
the good times and the bad. Right now there has been a series of positive progress in this
community, such as a reduction in crime, and more focus on quality of life issues. I want
to be apart of this continued success. Most importantly I feel that this would also be an
opportunity to give back even more to my community.
2. Can you dedicate at least 10 hours per month to serving on the
Community Relations Board?
YES. ABSOLUTELY.
3. What special skills would you bring to the Community Relations
Board?
My experience that I received while working at the Mayor Office afforded me the
opportunity to be closely involved with various community leaders, business owners
and citizens of this great city. I am dedicated, determined and I also have great
communication skills

The role of the CRB is to create a harmony and goodwill among diverse groups,
gathering information regarding potential issues that may require crisis response,
coordinating the establishment of a Crisis Response Team Organization to respond in
times of emergency, informing appropriate officials and organizations of community
concerns and or issues. Most importantly I feel the role of the CRB is to listen.
5. Do you feel that positive inter -group relations can be achieved in the

Yes. Miami has grown and matured over the last few years where the citizens are
more excepting to the differences and diversity of other citizens. The only way to
build and expand with the progress is to keep working through group relation,
