INTER -OFFICE MEMORANDUM
To: Honorable Members of the
City Commission
a.(Y2e,-10-4-
From: Priscilla A. Thompson
City Clerk
Date: June 16, 2006
Subject: Code Enforcement Board
References: July 13, 2006 Agenda
Enclosures: List of members
The Code Enforcement Board was created to issue orders having the force of law commanding
whatever steps are necessary to bring a Code violation into compliance.
Florida Statutes Section 162.05(2) requires members of the Code Enforcement Board to be
residents of the City of Miami. City Code Section 2-812 states that whenever possible, the
board is to consist of an architect, a businessperson, an engineer, a general contractor, a
subcontractor, and a realtor.
One (1) appointment is needed at this time, to fill an unexpired term ending February 13, 2007:
• Vice Chairman Sanchez has one (1) nomination for a regular seat held by Luis Carlos
Alvarez, who subsequently declined to accept his appointment made on December 15,
2005 as a member of the Code Enforcement Board.
For your convenience, we have included a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy
of this memorandum, we are requesting the Agenda Office to place this issue on the July 13, 2006
Commission agenda.
