The Nuisance Abatement Board was created to resolve controversies over the existence of public
nuisances, such as violative use of property in Miami.
Pursuant to Code Sec. 2-885(b), no board member shall serve more than eight consecutive
years on any one board. This provision may be waived by a unanimous (5/5) vote of the
members of the City Commission.
All four (4) members' terms expired on May 5, 2006:
• Vice Chairman Sanchez has one nomination for seat currently held by Robert Valledor.
Mr. Valledor has served as a member since May 5, 1994, exceeding Code term limit.
• Commissioner Haskins has one nomination for seat currently held by Shane Graber.
• Commissioner Regalado has one nomination for seat currently held by Monique Taylor.
Ms. Taylor has served as a member since July 25, 1996, exceeding Code term limit.
• Commissioner Spence -Jones has one nomination for seat currently held by Anthony
Cantey.
For your convenience, we are including a copy of the current membership of said board. By copy
of this memorandum, we are requesting that the Agenda Office place this issue on the July 13,
2006 Commission agenda. These matters were deferred from the June 8, 2006 Commission
meeting.
