A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF 30TH YEAR HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES
FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS ("HOPWA") FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $18,900,
FROM CENTER OF INFORMATION AND ORIENTATION, INC.; ALLOCATING
SAID FUNDS, TO CENTER OF INFORMATION AND ORIENTATION, INC., TO
PROVIDE LONG TERM RENTAL ASSISTANCE, TO AN ADDITIONAL TWELVE
(12) HOPWA PARTICIPANTS, INCREASING THEIR CURRENT CONTRACTED
CASELOAD; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN
AMENDMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, TO THE EXISTING
AGREEMENT WITH SAID AGENCY, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 05-0381, adopted June 9, 2005, the City Commission
allocated the amount of $180,000 to Center of Information and Orientation, Inc., to provide long term
rental assistance ("LTRA") to participants of the Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS
Program ("HOPWA"); and
WHEREAS, the Administration is requesting the transfer of 30th year HOPWA funds, in the
amount of $18,900 to Center of Information and Orientation, Inc., allowing said agency to provide
LTRA to an additional twelve (12) HOPWA participants, increasing their current caseload;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and
incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The transfer of 30th Year HOPWA funds, in the amount of $18,900, from Center of
Information and Orientation, Inc., and the allocation of said funds to Center of Information and
Orientation, Inc., to provide LTRA to an additional twelve (12) HOPWA participants, increasing their
current contracted caseload, is authorized.
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized (1) to execute an Amendment, in substantially the
attached form, to the existing Agreement with said agency, for said purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{2}

Footnotes:
{1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed
by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
{2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
