The funds consist of a pass through grant from the State of Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services ("EMS") and apportioned by Miami -Dade County. Background Information: The Florida Department of Health is authorized by Chapter 401, Part II, Florida Statutes, to provide grants to boards of county commissioners for the purpose of improving and expanding pre -hospital emergency medical services within Dade County. Director Page t of 1 EMS GRANT, Pg.2 Miami -Dade County annually submits the County Grant Application Package, a composite of improvements municipal Fire Departments wish to implement for the pre - hospital Emergency Medical System. This year the new grant revenue amount awarded to the City of Miami is $95,286 for fiscal year 2005-06 EMS Program. The approved City of Miami EMS projects are as follows: (1) Riskwatch Program, (2) EMS Equipment, and (3) EMS Conferences, Seminars and Training Sessions.
