The City of Miami strives to achieve diverse pedestrian -friendly distinct neighborhoods, promote transit connections, and provide contextual, safe, and comfortable buildings, blocks, streets, and parks that contribute to a prosperous city for all residents to enjoy. Landscaping • Coordinate the plan sheets and landscape plan. • Replace the small Montgomery Palms along Miami Avenue with an upright growing shade tree. (Examples may be pink tabebuia, pigeon plum or others.) Accentuate the corners, entrances or other features with Royal Palm clusters tightly spaced. • Elaborate on the design of the recreation decks materials, design, landscape and structures. Explain the details (colors, materials, etc.) of the cafe, lockers, and other buildings located on this level . The committee commends the architecture and urban design of this project to enhance this area of the City. * - Please note that the Planning Department reviews Special Permit proposals based on architectural design, site planning and urban design issues. The project still needs to be reviewed and comply with other requirements of the other sections such as Building, Mechanical, Public Works, Zoning, etc. It is our intention with these comments to aid in expediting Special Permit applications with your voluntary efforts in making the necessary changes; thereby, avoiding any preventable delays particularly prior to a project's submission to the Large Scale Development Committee or the Urban Development Review Board. 1
