A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING AN
INCREASE IN THE CONTRACT AWARDED TO NES TRAffIC SAFETY,
PURSUANT TO RESOLUTION NO. 04-0392, ADOPTED JUNE 24, 2004,
FURTHER AMENDED BY RESOLUTION NO. 05-0115, ADOPTED FEBRRUARY 24,
2005, FOR THE PROVISION OF ADDITIONAL BARRICADE RENTALSERVICES,
FOR THE DEPARTMENT CIF POLICE, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED
$8,452.30, INCREASING THE CONTRACT fROM $30,000 TO $38,452.30,
ANNUALLY; ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR SAID INCREASE, 'PROM THE
DEPARTMENT OF POLICE GENERAL OPERATING BUDGET ACCOUNT DODE
NO. 001000.290201.6.610; AMENDING RESOLUTION. NO.04.0392 TORERECT
SAID INCREASE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 04-0392, adopted June 24, 2004, theCity Commission
approved funds for the provision of barricade rental services, on an as-neededcontractbasis, from
NES Traffic Safety, for the Department of Police; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 05-0115, adopted 'February 24, 2005, the7CityCommission
authorized an increase in the contract awarded to NES Traffic Safety, in an amount not to exceed
$15,000, increasing the contract from $15,000 to $30,000 annually; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Police requires an increase due 4o the increased usage of
• barricades and other items to restrict pedestrian and vehicle traffic for the MTV Video Awards; and
WHEREAS, funds for said increase are available from the 'Department of PoliceGGeneral Operating
Budget, Account Code No. 001000.290201.6.610;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLOR I DA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings -contained in the Pfeamble 4o thisResolution are adopted by
reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this 'Section.
Section 2. An increase in the contract awarded to NES Traffic Safety, pursuant to Resolution No.
04-0392, adopted June 24, 2004, further amended by Resolution No. 05-0115, adopted 'February 24,
2005, for the provision of additional barricade rental services, for the Department of Police, in an not to
exceed $8,452.30, increasing the contract from $30,000 to $38,452.30, annually, is authorized.
Section 3. Resolution No. 04-0392 is amended in the following particulars:{1}

Section 1. The bid of NES Traffic Safety for the provision of barricade rental
services, for the Department of Police, on an as -needed contract basis, for an initial
two-year period, with the option to renew for two additional one-year periods, at annual
amount not to exceed $30 0OO $38,452.30, for a total contract amount not to.exceed
$4.20700G.$153,809.20, is approved, with funds allocated from the Department of Police
GeneralOperating Budget, Account Code No. 001000.290201.6.610.

Section 4. Funds for said increase are allocated from the Department of PoliceGeneral 'Operating
Budget, Account No. 001000.290201.6.610.
Section 5. The Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.(2)
