HomeMy WebLinkAboutSummary FormAGENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM FILE ID: O 6 - 060 Date: 5/08/2006 Requesting Department: Community Development Commission Meeting Date: 6/8/2006 District Impacted: Type: ® Resolution ❑ Ordinance ❑ Emergency Ordinance ❑ Discussion Item ❑ Other Subject: TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM HAFI Purpose of Item: AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG") PROGRAM FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $41,000, FROM HAITIAN AMERICAN FOUNDATION, INC.; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $21,000 TO CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF THE ARCHDIOCESES OF MIAMI, INC./ NOTRE DAME DAY CARE , TO PROVIDE AFTER SCHOOL AND SUMMER PROGRAM SERVICES AND THE AMOUNT OF $20,000 TO CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF THE ARCHDIOCESES OF MIAMI, INC./ LITTLE HAITI SENIOR CENTER TO PROVIDE ELDERLY SERVICES AND MEALS; Background information: Pursuant to Resolution No. 05-0383, adopted June 9, 2005, the City Commission allocated the amount of $41,000, to HAFI to provide services to the elderly Pursuant to Resolution No. 05-0383, adopted June 9, 2005, the City Commission allocated the amount of $10,000 to Catholic Charities of the Archdioceses of Miami, Inc./ Notre Dame Day Care for after school care at the center located at 130 NE 62nd Street Catholic Charities of the Archdioceses of Miami, Inc./ Notre Dame Day Care has requested additional funding to provide after school and summer program services to low/moderate income children in the Little Haiti area The Administration is recommending funding in the amount of $21,000 to said agency to provide said services Catholic Charities of the Archdioceses of Miami, Inc./ Little Haiti Senior Center has agreed to assist those clients, previously assigned to HAFI The Administration is recommending funding in the amount of $20,000 to said agency to provide elderly services and meals to low/moderate income individuals Budget impact Analysis Is this item related to revenue?
