Director/ City Manager Paae 1 of 2 Subject: Approve Amendment to Agreement with Sharpton, Brunson and Company Background Information: Resolution No, 05-00522, adopted June 9, 2005, authorized the City Manager to execute an agreement with Sharpton, Brunson and Company to analyze proposals received in connection with the RFP issued for development of improvements at the Melreese Golf Course. Said agreement with Sharpton provided for two one-year options. The agreement further provided that any delay beyond June 2006 may result in a renegotiation of the scope and compensation. On January 12, 2006, the Commission rejected the one proposal received in response to the RFP. The Commission subsequently authorized the issuance of a new RFP on April 6, 2006 and further selected Sharpton, Brunson and Company as the CPA firm to review the proposals. The time frame for receipt of proposals in connection with the new RFP will result in delays extending beyond June 2006. Therefore the parties have negotiated an amendment to the agreement to provide an approximate 4.5% increase in the fees, which fees shall be valid for the remainder of the agreement including the exercise of the City's second option. Funds for this service are available in the Department of Public Facilities General Operating Budget. Pace 2 of 2
