A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
ACCEPTING AND APPROPRIATING TWO NEW CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT
GRANTS, IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF $1,200,000; AMENDING THE CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENTS PROJECTS APPROPRIATIONS RESOLUTION NO. 05-0689,
ADOPTED NOVEMBER 17, 2005, TO REVISE CURRENT APPROPRIATIONS,
INCLUDING HOMELAND DEFENSE/NEIGHBORHOOD IMPROVEMENT BONDS,
AMONG APPROVED PROJECTS, AND APPROPRIATE NEW FUNDING INTO
THE CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECT NUMBERS SPECIFIED HEREIN;
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE GRANT ACCEPTANCE
AGREEMENT(S), IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM(S), AND ANY
NECESSARY DOCUMENT(S), TO IMPLEMENT ACCEPTANCE OF SAID
GRANTS.
WHEREAS, the Department of Capital Improvements and Transportation ("Department") received
a grant from the South Florida Water Management District in the amount of $325,000 in order to
partially fund shoreline stabilization and installation of canoe/kayak launches with educational
materials and navigational signage at Morningside and Margaret Pace Parks; and
WHEREAS, the Department secured funding from the Florida Department of Transportation
("FDOT") in the amount of $875,000 that is being redirected from Miami Dade College ("MDC" ), at the
request of MDC, to the Department for the purpose of implementing street improvements on Northeast
4th Street between Northeast 2nd Avenue and Biscayne Boulevard, Miami, Florida, in order to improve
the safety of pedestrians; and
WHEREAS, capital projects have been reviewed, and, in some cases, ongoing projects have been
revised and respective appropriations increased or decreased in their totals, to reflect reprogramming
of existing funding and appropriation of new revenue sources;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. Two new Capital Improvement grants, in the total amount of $1,200,000, are accepted
and appropriated.
Section 2. The Capital Improvement Projects Appropriations Resolution No. 05-0689, adopted
November 17, 2005, is amended in the following particulars:{1}

Section 1. The herein appropriations are hereby made for implementation of all municipal
capital improvements of the City of Miami, including new capital improvement projects
scheduled to begin during Fiscal Year 2006. The herein appropriations which are hereby
designated by reference to descriptive project title and number also include appropriations for
previously approved scheduled projects as well as reappropriations of prior funds. The sources
of revenues to support the herein appropriations are hereby identified by fund and project in ten
Capital Funds, as follows:

Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{2} to execute the Grant Acceptance Agreement(s), in
substantially the attached form(s), which include among other things, approval of construction
documents and the granting of naming rights to CVS/pharmacy Charitable Trust and any necessary
documents, to implement acceptance of said grants.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of
the Mayor.{3}

{2} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed
by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code
provisions.
{3} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
