Subject: Authorize the City Manager to execute Agreements with Miami -Dade County relating to
projects funded by the County's Building Better Communities Bond Program.
Purpose of Item:
Authorize the City Manager to execute Agreements in substantially the attached form for the various
Capital Improvement projects to be funded by the County's Building Better Communities general
obligation bond Program, as follows: Project 50 - Renovate the Orange Bowl, Site Location #70629,
B#30153B; Project 304 - Drainage and Storm System Improvements, Site Locations #70580 (Glen
Royal) B#30008; Location #70582, (Englewood) B#30011; Location #70584 (Northwest), B#30014;
Project 82 - Parks and Facility Improvements, Site Locations #70586 (Grapeland Water Park), B#s
35828, 60496, 30105, Location #70585 (Little Haiti Soccer Park), B#s 38500, 30295; Location
#70587 (Improve Various Linear Parks, Greenways and Baywalk), B#30504 and others to be
determined.
Background Information:
In November 2004 Miami -Dade County voters approved a general obligation bond for capital projects
throughout Miami -Dade County including projects within the City of Miami. Funds will be
appropriated when they are received from Miami -Dade County. The County requires municipalities to
first authorize specific projects and to execute an agreement for each project. Upon final approval and
funding from the County, each project will be returned to the City Commission for appropriation.
