Subject: Resolution authorizing City Manager to execute necessary documents for grant acceptance.
Purpose of Item:
Resolution of the City of Miami Commission authorizing the City Manager to execute the necessary
documents to amend Resolution 05-0145, to add two additional VISTA members and accept grant
funds in the amount not to exceed $5,500 from the Corporation for National and Community Service
to Special Revenue Fund Americorys VISTA (Volunteers In Service To America),
#110146.098002.8.436 to provide $ transportation and other expenses.
Background Information:
The City of Miami Office of Grants Administration ("OGA") received a grant from the Corporation to
support this program that places a service corps in the City's five commission districts to provide
capacity -building for the organizations through grant writing, volunteer management, and linkages to
City of Miami financial literacy programs. OGA received a grant award for two VISTA Summer
Associates to serve the City this summer. In addition, OGA received $5,000 for the full -year program
and $500 for the summer program, to offset transportation and other program costs.
