HomeMy WebLinkAboutAdditional Grant InformationADDITIONAL GRANT EXPLANATION AND INFORMATION: The Health Foundation has awarded $200,000 over a two-year period to the City of Miami for the purchase and installation of a minimum of 66 automatic external defibrillators, train and educate 1,000 residents in CPR/AED usage, and conduct outreach activities to increase awareness through the distribution of 5,000 brochures, 300 posters, use of City of Miami Fire Rescue website, and placing AED signs wherever they are placed. Once The Health Foundation receives the grant award agreement materials and are approved, the Health Foundation will send out the first payment. Every six months the City will submit a progress report which will be reviewed and if satisfactory then a payment is issued. Since this is a 2-year project, there will be four (4) possible payments. Based on the information above submitted by the Health Foundation, The City of Miami's Objectives are as follows: 1. Acquire and install a minimum of 66 AED by the end of the program 2. Increase awareness and promote the PAD program by: 2.1 Distributing 5,000 informational brochures to the general public at special events, emergency rescue operations and through City of Miami NET offices. 2.2 Placing of 300 Posters at public settings 2.3 Producing and broadcasting on a weekly basis an educational program about SCA and CPR procedures through City of Miami Public TV. 2.4 Promoting the PAD program, education and training through the City of Miami Fire Rescue website. 2.5 Designing and placing a minimum of 66 AED signs in public places in conjunction with the placements of the AEDs. 3. Train and educate 1,000 residents in AED/CPR procedures by the end of the grant program
