For RFQ 05-06-038 Miami Streetcar
Topographical Survey Services
REFERENCES
The City issued a Request for Qualifications (RFQ), No. 05-06-038 for the provision of
Topographical Survey Services for the City of Miami Streetcar Project. The proposals were
evaluated utilizing a two part process to select the most qualified firm.
The first part was to evaluate the firms based on their qualifications to provide comprehensive
surveying services. Based on our discussion at our first meeting, as a Committee we decided
to invite the most qualified four (4) firms listed below to give presentations at a second meeting
on April 27, 2006.
1. ConsulTech Surveying & Mapping, Inc.
2. Craig A. Smith & Associates
3. Manuel G. Vera & Associates
4. Marlin Engineering, Inc.
Following the presentations provided on April 27th, the Committee discussed the firms and
determined our preferred ranking. We recommend that the City enter into negotiations with the
firms as ranked below.
1. Manuel G. Vera & Associates
2. Marlin Engineering, Inc.
3. Craig A. Smith & Associates
4. Consultech Surveying & Mapping, Inc.
Please find attached a short synopsis of each firm's presentation as well as the evaluation forms
we completed after our deliberations.
