Conway, P.E., Dir or Capital Improvements & Transportation DATE: SUBJECT April 27, 2006 FILE : Evaluation Committee Recommendation For RFQ 05-06-038 for Miami Streetcar Topographical Survey Services REFERENCES Project B-71 21 5G ENCLOSURES: Evaluation Committee Recommendation The City issued Request for Qualifications (RFQ) No. 05-06-038 for the provision of Surveying/Mapping Services for the City of Miami Streetcar Project. The proposals were evaluated utilizing a two part process to select the most qualified firm. Proposals were received on the advertised due date, March 27, 2006, from the following six (6) firms: 1. ConsulTech Surveying & Mapping, Inc. 2. Craig A. Smith & Associates 3. J. Bonfiil & Associates 4. Manuel G. Vera & Associates 5. Marlin Engineering 6. Weidener Surveying & Mapping, P.A. As reflected in the attached memorandum from the chairperson of the Evaluation Committee ("Committee"), the Committee met on April 19, 2006 to review all of the proposals and select a short-list of the top firms to invite to give presentations. Based on their discussions during their first meeting, the Committee invited four (4) firms to give presentations at a second meeting on April 27, 2006. Immediately following the presentations, the Committee deliberated and ranked the firms as follows: 1. Manuel G. Vera & Associates 2. Marlin Engineering, Inc. 3. Craig A. Smith & Associates 4. ConsulTech Surveying & Mapping,Inc. The Committee is recommending that the City enter into negotiations with the firms as ranked above.
