HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-06-0290City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-06-0290 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 06-00869 Final Action Date: 5/11/2006 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CREATE THE "MIAMI HERITAGE SUPER BOWL TASK FORCE" IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE OFFICIAL SUPER BOWL HOST COMMITTEE, FOR THE 2007 SUPER BOWL XLI AND THE 2010 SUPER BOWL XLIV TO BE HELD AT THE DOLPHIN STADIUM, MIAMI, FLORIDA. WHEREAS, the 2007 Super Bowl XLI and the 2010 Super Bowl XLIV will be held at the Dolphin Stadium; and WHEREAS, there presently exists an official Super Bowl Host Committee; and WHEREAS, small businesses, and minority businesses should participate in the opportunities emerging from the Super Bowl coming to South Florida; and WHEREAS, tourism is an important industry and tourism within local neighborhoods should be promoted to those visiting during both Super Bowls; and WHEREAS, City residents, business owners and hospitality industry professionals would be ideal personnel for the creation of the Miami Heritage Task Force; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Manager is authorized{1} to create the "Miami Heritage Task Force" in conjunction with the official Super Bowl Host Committee, for the 2007 Super Bowl XLI and the 2010 Super Bowl XLIV to be held at the Dolphin Stadium, Miami, Florida. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} Footnotes: City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 06-00869 (Version: 1) Printed On: 1/25/2017 File Number: 06-00869 Enactment Number: R-06-0290 {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
