HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-06-0286City of Miami Legislation Resolution: R-06-0286 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 06-00654 Final Action Date: 5/11/2006 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE TO THE PROFESSIONAL SERVICES AGREEMENT ("AGREEMENT") DATED OCTOBER 20, 2004, WITH GANNETT FLEMING INC., PURSUANT TO REQUEST FOR QUALIFICATIONS NO. 03-04-087, FOR THE PROVISION OF TRANSPORTATION AND TRANSIT PROFESSIONAL SERVICES ON A CONTINUING BASIS FOR MISCELLANEOUS PROJECTS, IN AN AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $300,000, INCREASING THE CONTRACT FROM $2,000,000 TO $2,300,000; ALLOCATING FUNDS FOR SAID INCREASE, FROM THE BUDGETS OF VARIOUS CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM PROJECT ACCOUNTS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AMENDMENT NO. 1, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, TO THE AGREEMENT, FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") and Gannett Fleming Inc., entered into a Professional Services Agreement ("Agreement") on October 20, 2004, for the provision of transportation and transit professional services on a continuing basis for miscellaneous projects pursuant to Request for Qualifications ("RFQ") No. 03-04-087 conducted in compliance with the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended; and WHEREAS, the Department of Capital Improvements and Transportation ("CIP") has issued three (3) work order authorizations to Gannett Fleming, Inc., totaling $1,897,782, for miscellaneous projects: Civic Center Implementation Plan -Phase 1, Grand Ave Extension Project Improvement and Streetcar Alternative Analysis; and WHEREAS, the current remaining contract balance of $102,218, is not sufficient to cover the costs for needed new work assignments; and WHEREAS, it is necessary to increase the contract amount by $300,000, to cover the anticipated cost of several tasks, including conducting an environmental assessment for the Overtown Metrorail Station Redevelopment Project, continuation of work on the transportation element of Miami 21 and continuation of work on Phase 2 of the Civic Center Implementation Plan; and WHEREAS, due to the addition of these work assignments, a contract increase in an amount not to exceed $300,000, is required and will increase the total contract amount from $2,000,000 to $2,300,000; and WHEREAS, CIP, acting by and through its Director, affirms to the City Commission that this additional work and additional tasks are within the scope of the foregoing RFQ; and WHEREAS, funds for the stated purpose will be allocated and is currently available and unencumbered from the budgets of various CIP project accounts; City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File Id: 06-00654 (Version: 1) Printed On: 1/24/2017 File Number: 06-00654 Enactment Number: R-06-0286 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. An increase to the Agreement dated October 20, 2004, with Gannett Fleming Inc., pursuant to RFQ No. 03-04-087, for the provision of transportation and transit professional services on a continuing basis for miscellaneous projects, in an amount not to exceed $300,000, increasing the contract from $2,000,000 to $2,300,000, is authorized, with funds for said increase allocated, from the budgets of various CIP Project Accounts. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized{1} to execute Amendment No. 1, in substantially the attached form, to the Agreement, for said purpose. Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{2} Footnotes: {1} The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all requirements that may be imposed by the City Attorney, including but not limited to those prescribed by applicable City Charter and Code provisions. {2} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
