HomeMy WebLinkAboutText File ReportCity of Miami Text File Report City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.ci.miami,fLus File ID: 05-00513 Enactment #: R-05.0381 Version: 1 Type: Resolution Introduced: 5/24/05 Status: Passed Enactment Date: 6/9/05 Controlling Body: Office of the City Clerk A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), APPROVING THE ALLOCATION OF FISCAL YEAR 2005-2006 HOUSING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PERSONS WITH AIDS PROGRAM FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $10,351,000, AS SPECIFIED IN "ATTACHMENT A," ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED, TO PROVIDE HOUSING ASSISTANCE AND HOUSING RELATED SERVICES TO LOW-INCOME INDIVIDUALS LIVING WITH HIV/AIDS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT(S), IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORKS), WITH EACH AGENCY, AS SPECIFIED 1N "ATTACHMENT A," FOR SAID PURPOSE. WHEREAS, the Housing Opportunities for Persons With AIDS ("HOPWA") Program was created under the AIDS Housing Opportunity Act and revised under the Housing and Community Development Act of 1992; and WHEREAS, since 1994 the City of Miami ("City") has received HOPWA Program funds from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development("U.S. HUD") and has been responsible for the implementation of programs designed to provide housing and related services to individuals living with HIV/AIDS in the City and throughout Miami -Dade County; and WHEREAS, U.S. HUD has advised the City that HOPWA funding, in the amount of $10,351,000, for Fiscal Year 2005-2006,is available for distribution; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The allocation of Fiscal Year 2005-2006 HOPWA Program funds, in the amount of $10,351,000, as specified in "Attachment A," attached and incorporated, to provide housing assistance and housng related services to low-income individuals living with HIV/AIDS, is approved. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized { I } to execute Agreement(s), in substantially the attached form(s), with each agency, as specified in "Attachment A," for said purpose. Section 4.
