HomeMy WebLinkAboutText file ReportFile ID: 04-01153 Enactment #: R-04-0708 Version: 1 City of Miami Text File Report Type: Resolution Introduced: 10/5/04 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.ci.miami.fl.us Status: Passed Enactment Date: 10/28/04 Controlling Body: City Commission A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH AT 1 ACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANT FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF $140,158.94, FROM CATHOLIC CHARITIES OF THE ARCHDIOCESES OF MIAMI, INC.; ALLOCATING SAID FUNDS TO THE CITY OF MIAMI HOMELESS PROGRAM FOR THE PROVISION OF ESSENTIAL SERVICES (TEMPORARY SHELTER, JOB SEARCH ASSISTANCE, PERMANENT HOUSING REFERRALS) TO THE HOMELESS POPULATION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE AN AGREEMENT, IN SUBSTANTIALLY THE ATTACHED FORM, WITH SAID AGENCY. WHEREAS, this administration is requesting that Emergency Shelirr Grant ("ESG") funds, in an amount not to exceed $140,158.94, be transferred from Catholic Charities of the Archdioceses of Miami, Inc.; and WHEREAS, the City of Miami Homeless Program will provide essential services to the homeless population of the City of Miami; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The transfer of ESG funds, in an amount not to exceed $140,158.94,from Catholic Charities of the Archdioceses of Miami, Inc. and the allocation of said funds to the City of Miami Homeless Program for the provision of essential services (temporary shelter, meals, job search assistance, permanent housing referrals) to the homeless population of the City of Miami, is authorized. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized {1) to execute an Agreement, in substantially the attached farm, with said agency. Section 4.
