Purpose of Item: G /1 A Resolution of the Miami City Commission, terminating the contract between the City of Miami and Martin's Lamar Uniforms to provide uniforms and accessories (Group 1), pursuant to Resolution No. 04-335, adopted March 24, 2005, as amended by Resolution No. 05-188, and Resolution No. 05-562, and award the bid in its entirety to the second low bidder, Harrison Uniforms, under the same prices, terms and conditions pursuant to Bid No. 03-04-009. Background Information: Resolution No. 04-335, adopted May 27, 2004 awarded the bid to Martin's Lamar Uniforms, Inc. (Group 1) and to Harrison Uniforms (Groups 2-9), for the provision of uniforms and accessories for the Department of Police, on an as needed contract basis for a one (1) year period, with the option to renew for two (2) additional one year periods. Resolution No. 05-188, adopted March 24, 2005, authorized the use of additional sources of funds. Resolution No. 05-562, adopted September 22, 2005 authorized the change from Martin's Lamar Uniforms Groupl Alternate Bid to Group 1 Base Bid. During the past contract year term, the Police Department along with the Purchasing Department have had several meetings with Martin's Lamar Uniforms to address the areas of concern with the uniforms being provided under the contract. In accordance with Section 1.24 and 2.27 of the contract and Martin's inability to remedy the default, the Purchasing Department has recommended termination of the contract between the City of Miami and Martin's Lamar Uniform for the provision of Uniforms and Accessories (Group 1) and award to the second low bidder, Harrison Uniforms. The Police Department has evaluated the uniform clothing provided by the next low bidder, Harrison Unifms, and has found the uniform clothing to meet the specifications of the bid. ;Y Tin rs .1 Budget Impact Analysis NO Is this item related to revenue?
