HomeMy WebLinkAboutLegislationCity of Miami Legislation Resolution File Number: 06-00446 City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.ci.miami.fl.us Final Action Date: A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZING THE PROCUREMENT OF HOMELAND SECURITY EQUIPMENT, PUBLIC SAFETY EQUIPMENT AND RELATED SERVICES, FROM U.S. COMMUNITIES, UTILIZING AN EXISTING U.S. COMMUNITIES GOVERNMENT PURCHASING ALLIANCE CONTRACT FOR HOMELAND SECURITY SOLUTIONS, #RQ06-814063-10A, EFFECTIVE THROUGH OCTOBER 8, 2008, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PURCHASING, TO BE UTILIZED BY VARIOUS USER DEPARTMENTS AND AGENCIES ON AN AS -NEEDED CONTRACT BASIS, SUBJECT TO ANY EXTENSIONS OR REPLACEMENT CONTRACTS BY U.S COMMUNITIES, WITH AN OPTION TO RENEW FOR TWO (2) ADDITIONAL ONE-YEAR PERIODS, IN AN ANNUAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $800,000, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2005-2006, WITH PURCHASES FOR SUBSEQUENT FISCAL YEARS SUBJECT ONLY TO BUDGETARY APPROVAL; AUTHORIZING THE PROCUREMENT OF COMPUTERS (BRAND NAME), PERIPHERALS, SOFTWARE, AND RELATED SERVICES, FROM U.S. COMMUNITIES, UTILIZING AN EXISTING U.S. COMMUNITIES GOVERNMENT PURCHASING ALLIANCE CONTRACT FOR TECHNOLOGY PRODUCTS, #RQ03-605674-16A, EFFECTIVE THROUGH APRIL 30, 2006, FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF PURCHASING, TO BE UTILIZED BY VARIOUS USER DEPARTMENTS AND AGENCIES ON AN AS -NEEDED CONTRACT BASIS, SUBJECT TO ANY EXTENSIONS OR REPLACEMENT CONTRACTS BY U.S COMMUNITIES ,WITH AN OPTION TO RENEW FOR THREE (3) ADDITIONAL ONE-YEAR PERIODS, IN AN ANNUAL AMOUNT NOT TO EXCEED $1,500,000, FOR FISCAL YEAR 2005-2006, WITH PURCHASES FOR SUBSEQUENT FISCAL YEARS SUBJECT ONLY TO BUDGETARY APPROVAL; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE UTILIZATION (PIGGYBACKS) OF OTHER AND FUTURE U.S. COMMUNITIES CONTRACTS WITHOUT ANY FURTHER CITY COMMISSION AUTHORIZATION, UPON THE CHIEF PROCUREMENT OFFICER'S DETERMINATION THAT SAID PIGGYBACKS ARE IN COMPLIANCE WITH SECTION 18-111 OF THE PROCUREMENT CODE AND ALL PURCHASES BEING SUBJECT TO BUDGETARY APPROVAL ONLY. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The procurement of homeland security equipment, public safety equipment and related services, from U.S. Communities, utilizing an existing U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance Contract for Homeland Security Solutions, #RQ06-814063-10A, effective through October 8, 2008, for the Department of Purchasing, to be utilized by various user departments and agencies on an as -needed contract basis, subject to any extensions or replacement contracts by U.S. Communities, with an option to renew, for two (2) additional one-year periods, in an annual amount not to exceed $800,000, for Fiscal Year 2005-2006, with purchases for subsequent fiscal Years subject only to budgetary approval, and the procurement of computers (brand name), peripherals, software, City of Mianil Page 1 of 2 Primed On: 3/24/2006 File Number: 06-00446 and related services, from U.S. Communities, utilizing an existing U.S. Communities Government Purchasing Alliance Contract for Technology Products, #RQ03-605674-16A, effective through April 30, 2006, for the Department of Purchasing, to be utilized by various user departments and agencies on an as -needed contract basis, subject to any extensions or replacement contracts by U.S. Communities, with an option0for Fiscal Year 2005-2006, wamount with purchases for subsequent Fiscal Years not to exceed $1,h00,00 , subject only to budgetary approval, are authorized. Section 2. The utilization (piggybacks) of other and future U.S. Communities contracts without any further City Commission authorization, upon the Chief Procurement Officer's determination that said piggybacks are in compliance with Section 18-111 of the Procurement Code and all purchases being subject to budgetary approval only, is authorized. Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature of the Mayor.{1 } APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS% JORGE L. FERNANDEZ CITY ATTORNEY Footnotes: {1} If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted.
