HomeMy WebLinkAboutSummary FormAQENDA ITEM SUMMARY FORM FILE ID: d6-ooa11$ Date: 2/16/2006 Requesting Department: Public Facilities Commission Meeting Date: 4/6/2006 District Impacted: 1 - Flagami Type: ® Resolution ❑ Ordinance ❑ Emergency Ordinance 0 Discussion Item ❑ Other Subject: Approve Draft RFP for Improvements at Melreese Golf Course, CPA, and Review Committee Purpose of Item: It is respectfully recommended that the City Commission adopt the attached Resolution approving the Request For Proposals ("RFP") document for the development of a golf course, hotel and related amenities at 1802 N.W. 37th Avenue, commonly referred to as the Melreese Golf Course, under the Unified Development Project ("UDP") process; selecting a CPA firm to evaluate the proposals received in response to said RFP; authorizing the City Manager to negotiate an amendment to the agreement with said firm and to present the negotiated amendment to the City Commission for approval; further appointing a review committee to evaluate proposals submitted in response to said RFP. Background Information: Resolution No. 06-0007, adopted January 12, 2006, rejected the one proposal received in connection with the RFP issued June 1, 2005 and re -determined that the most advantageous method to develop improvements to the existing facilities is through the UDP process. The Department of Public Facilities prepared the attached RFP for the subject UDP. The RFP contains detailed terms and conditions about the project, the submittal and selection process for proposals, the requirements for approvals from the voters (if required), and matters relating to future lease negotiations. A summary of the RFP is attached. The content of the RFP is being considered at this duly advertised public hearing, and, if approved, the RFP document will be issued as soon as possible.
