Consideration of an ordinance of the Miami City
Commission amending Ordinance 10544, as amended,
the Miami Comprehensive Neighborhood Plan, by
amending certain policies of the Future Land Use Element,
Housing Element, Parks, Recreation, and Open Space
Element, Coastal Management Element, and Capital
Improvements Element to incorporate language necessary
for the implementation of the Miami21 Project; containing a
repealer provision and severability clause; providing for
transmittal to state agencies as required by law; and
providing an effective date.
Approval.
The proposed amendment is in order to modify certain
Goals, Objectives and Policies within the Future Land
Use Element, Housing Element, Parks, Recreation, and
Open Space Element, Coastal Management Element,
and Capital Improvements Element in order to
incorporate language necessary for the implementation of
the Miami 21 Project. It is found that these changes do
not constitute substantial deviations to the
Comprehensive Plan, but rather provide for the necessary
framework in order for the City to adopt a new set of Land
Development Regulations to be consistent with smart
growth principles and new urbanism.
